Shoes in the stability category feature a firmer section of material on the medial side (inside) of the foot, strategically placed to help guide the foot into a natural cycle of movement. The firmer midsole material is often a different colour to the main midsole, making it easier to see where the support has been placed in the shoe. Not everybody needs a supportive shoe and if you have been recommended one in the past we'd suggest having a fresh gait analysis prior to a new shoe purchase, in case your requirements have changed since you bought your last pair.
